elcome to Cheshire in the years 950AD to 1066AD. Cestrescire is a group of dedicated re-enactors, depicting the life and times of the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings living in England from 950AD to 1066AD.
Part of Regia Anglorum, Cestrescire accurately recreates the culture of the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings, including dress, weapons, combat and general living.
As a group, Cestrescire is regularly involved in historic battle re-enactments around the country, as well as participating in the LHE (Living History Exhibition). The LHE recreates life as it was for the general populace, including demonstrations of cookery, metal working and wood working skills and much more. As a group, Cestrescire is available for local shows situated within the Cheshire region. We are also available for school visits, depicting both the Anglo-Saxon and Viking peoples at a time in accordance with the National Curriculum.
